This recipe for fig and prosciutto crostini is one I've taken straight out of my mom's playbook. (She's great at taking a few simple ingredients and turning them into a magically delicious appetizer.) Crunchy bread, sweet fig preserves, gooey cheese, and salty prosciutto. I like to sprinkle chopped parsley on top for a fresh pop of color.
The best part? This show-stopping snack can be ready in just 10 minutes!
Things You'll Need
- 1 small baguette
- 1/3 cup fig preserves
- 4 ounce block of sharp cheddar cheese, thinly sliced (1)
- 8 slices prosciutto, cut in half
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, roughly chopped
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Slice the baguette into 16 bite-sized pieces. Place them on baking sheet in an even layer.
Step 2
Spread each piece of baguette with 1/2 teaspoon of fig preserves.
Step 3
Top each appetizer with a slice of cheese, a slice or two of onion, and half a slice of prosciutto.
Step 4
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Step 5
Transfer the crostini to a serving platter, sprinkle with parsley, and serve warm.
