Coffee drinkers who find themselves doing the bitter coffee face may prefer cold-brew coffee instead of that traditional-brewed cup of joe. Because the grinds never come into contact with hot water, the cold-brew coffee has a much smoother, sweeter flavor. This recipe yields approximately 2 cups of cold-brewed coffee.
Things You'll Need
- Large pitcher
- 2 cups medium-grind coffee
- 3 1/2 cups room-temperature filtered water
- Fine-mesh strainer
- Coffee filter
In a large pitcher, stir together 2 cups medium-grind coffee with 3 1/2 cups room-temperature filtered water. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and allow to sit at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours.
Strain the coffee through a fine-mesh strainer fitted with a coffee filter. Discard the grinds.
Add ice, milk, cream, sugar or whatever you normally like with your coffee and enjoy.
